The first issue of "Spooks," co-written by Larry Hama, has been racking up multiple strong reviews -- and Hama informs us that a "sort of sequel or spinoff called OMEGA TEAM" is already in the works.
An excerpt from the Comixtreme.com review:
... Hama (who supposedly crafted the military side of this story, with Salvatore responsible for the monsters) is the man who turned G.I. Joe from a generic plastic doll to an army of heroes and villains that still commands a loyal following today. If anyone can make the [Department of Supernatural Defense] interesting, it's him. And the cool factor - let's face it - is pretty high. I want to feel for the characters before this miniseries ends, but as a set-up issue, this is pretty good. Spooks isn't like any sort of supernatural combat comic you've read before, but if you dig that quite select subgenre, you'll dig this.
